JobProgress (jobprogress.app) is a private tracker for your own job search. This page says what it collects, what it does with it, who else handles it, and how to have it removed. Questions: support@jobprogress.app.
What JobProgress collects
- Your account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
- What you enter: the roles you track, notes, the people you record contacting, your search settings, your writing preferences and links, and your resume if you set one up.
- Email, only if you choose to connect it: if you connect Gmail, JobProgress reads, without changing anything, the job alert emails and the messages from employers and recruiters that relate to your search. If you forward email from another provider to your private JobProgress address, it receives what you forward.
- A file you upload to set up your resume is read once to fill in the steps and is not kept. What you approve in those steps is kept.
What it is used for
- Finding roles in your job alerts that match what you are looking for, and putting them in your queue.
- Recording replies from employers against the roles they belong to, so you can see where each application stands.
- Drafting resumes, cover letters, messages and interview notes for you, written only from what you have provided. Everything is a draft: JobProgress never sends a message, submits an application or posts anything for you.
- Nothing else. Your data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI models.
Gmail and other Google data
If you connect Gmail, JobProgress asks Google only for permission to read your email (the gmail.readonly scope) and your email address. It never sends, deletes, labels or changes anything in your Gmail. It reads only the job alert and job search messages described above, and you can disconnect at any time in Settings, or remove its access from your Google account.
JobProgress's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information from your Gmail is used only to provide the features described on this page to you, is never used for advertising, is never sold, and is not read by people except where you ask for help with your own account, where needed for security, or where the law requires it.
Who else handles your data
JobProgress uses these services to run. Each handles your data only to provide its part of the service:
- Supabase: stores your account and data, in a database where each account can see only its own rows.
- Vercel: runs the website.
- Anthropic (Claude): the AI that reads job postings and your resume, and writes drafts and answers when you ask. It receives the text needed for that task.
- Google: sign in with Google, and Gmail if you connect it.
- Cloudflare: receives email you forward to your JobProgress address and passes it on.
- CloudConvert: turns a tailored resume from Word into PDF; the files are deleted on its side after the conversion.
How long it is kept, and removing it
- Email you forward to JobProgress is deleted after 45 days. What the daily run took from it, such as a role or a reply, stays in your tracker.
- Everything else is kept while you have an account. You can download all of it as a spreadsheet from Settings at any time.
- To delete your account and everything in it, email support@jobprogress.app from the address you sign in with. It is done within 30 days, and the connection to your Gmail is removed with it.
Keeping it safe
Each account can see only its own data. The permission that lets JobProgress read your Gmail is stored encrypted. JobProgress never asks for or stores your email password.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes, and a change to what is collected or who handles it is announced in the app before it applies.
